Wairakei Pastoral Limited places a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship and is committed to the sustainable management of the Estate. The owners of Wairakei Estate and the WPL management team bring a considerable range of skills to bear and employ a number of key technologies on the Estate to create strategic advantage and to inform their decision-making.
Soil conservation has been identified as a critical factor in the management of the Estate’s resources and on this basis a full-time Soil Conservator has been employed. A range of strategies have been, or are being, adopted to enhance and improve water quality and biodiversity within the Estate.
